My art

I’ve been drawing and painting since I was very little. It’s been my passion, my refuge. Because when I was too nervous to speak my thoughts out loud (which I often was), I could draw them.
I’ve always used art as an escape, as a way to let all my feelings out on paper.
And the thing is, I’ve always been scared about art. Because when you start sharing it with others, you become vulnerable. Your inner world is suddenly out in the open for everyone to see, scrutinise and criticise. Which is why I've been so hesitant about showing my paintings to others. For me, it's not just a painting, it's a piece of me. A glimpse into my soul. At the same time, as time has passed I've realised that it's precisley this vulnerability I've always been so frightened of what makes art, art. It is, at the end of the day, what allows us to connect with others.
